Flame — one registry for the whole football season

Flame is a national football administration platform. It replaces scattered spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and paper registers with a single registry and one set of workflows for associations, leagues, clubs, players and referees — across national, provincial, competition and club level.

01

The problem

Football administration in Zambia runs on disconnected systems. Player registrations sit in one spreadsheet, fixtures in another, referee appointments in a WhatsApp group, compliance checks on paper. Nobody has a clear, reliable picture of the game.

01

Scattered records

Registrations, contracts, transfers, fixtures, results and disciplinary records live in separate systems that don't talk to each other. Answering a simple question — who is eligible to play for this club this weekend? — takes hours.

02

Broken workflows

Approval chains, referee appointments, match reports and compliance checks are managed by phone and email. There is no audit trail, no shared record of what happened and no way to verify claims.

03

No national picture

Without a shared registry across national, provincial and club levels, federations cannot see the state of the game or act on it — for player welfare, competitions, or compliance.

02

What Flame does

One platform for the whole football season. Each capability works on its own, but they share a common registry, permission model and audit trail — so the data stays consistent across the whole system.

03

Who it's for

Flame is built for organisations that run the game — not just the biggest league in the country. The permission model scales from a national federation to a single club.

Federations

National associations

A single national registry and one set of workflows — with dashboards that give leadership an accurate, real-time view of the game.

Provinces

Provincial bodies

Regional oversight of clubs, players and competitions, with delegated permissions and reporting that feeds into the national picture.

Competitions

Leagues & tournaments

Run a full season on one platform — fixtures, standings, referees, match reports and compliance — without juggling spreadsheets.

Clubs

Clubs & academies

Manage registrations, contracts and match-day operations from one place, and stay compliant with federation requirements without manual reporting.

04

Current status

Flame is in a pilot state. We deployed it to production deliberately, and we have been honest about what that phase was for. This section explains where Flame is, why, and what comes next.

What the pilot validated

Production engineering, end to end

  • Automated CI/CD deployment to a production AWS environment
  • Backup and recovery tested at national-scale data volume
  • Role-based access enforced across multiple organisation levels
  • Security controls in production: RBAC, audit logging, secrets management
  • Long-running season workflows end to end
Where it is now

Infrastructure hibernating to reserve cost

The application's production infrastructure is currently hibernating. Once the engineering validation was complete, running a full production environment for a system without active paying users was not a responsible use of capital. The codebase is production-ready and the environment can be brought back online when a partner is ready to go live.

What we're doing next

Onboarding early partners

We are now in conversations with federations, provincial bodies and leagues about piloting Flame with real users in a live competition. If you are evaluating a football administration platform for your organisation, we can walk you through the system and discuss a scoped pilot.

Request a walkthrough

We can walk you through the platform in detail — features, workflows, permissions and the pilot story. If it's a fit, we can scope a pilot with your organisation.
