FMP (Firefox 3 Microsite Projects) Are Now In!!!

For those who don’t know, BackSpaceStudios and PHUG havce been working closely with students from Seneca College in the Digital Media Arts program to develop/contribute Firefox 3 Microsites. The students where split in to development and given 2 weeks to produce a basic concept using WordPress to re-brand Firefox 3.
Last week the FMP presentations began, and I am happy to say that the results where brilliant. There where some very unique presentations and concepts delivered, and everyone had fun!!! Some development teams went all out with there presentations including marketing material, slide shows, flyer’s, some even made shirts…
We are hopping to hear some feedback from Mozilla Firefox representatives soon…
Without further ado, here are a selection of the concepts in no particular order:

This is really wonderful work everyone!
Sorry for the delayed response but we’ve just gotten back here at Mozilla into the swing of things after the holiday break and will for sure give you more detailed feedback as soon as we can…
Keep up the great work, and thanks to everyone in the program who worked on these great microsites for Firefox.
Best,

I’m glad to see Seneca finding new, creative ways to get involved with Mozilla!
All of the microsites were awesome! Great work everyone. If you ever want to do more for the Mozilla project, feel free to join a group or start your own at http://spreadfirefox.com!

Hi guys. This is really cool stuff…it’s great to see all the different ideas in action like this.
You might be interested to know that we’re in the process of redesigning Mozilla.com to coincide with the release of Firefox 3. I’ve been blogging about our approach to the challenge…in one post I shared some very early comps with potential directions from the design agency, so check them out if you’re interested (and leave a comment if you have thoughts!):

Damn! Wish I had time to make a mockup site for Firefox! :O
I would have loved to do something like this.
Planning on having something similar in your classes brendan?

Unr: the FMP project is ongoing, 3rd semester PHP Dev class. As Firefox changes so will we
In terms of what you will get this semester, we will be working on the APNG project in PhotoShop class. However, a good majority of the labs in that class are web mock up creation, and web optimization, so…mayber we could do some FF3 stuff for fun.

Those sites are slick, but at http://www.provokemedia.net/mozilla/wordpress/ , hover your mouse on one of the links in the menu. The hand pointer will chaotically blink.

crf: Thanks for the feedback. These sites are still in development. So there are a few bigs here and there…I think the blinking mouse is due to the use of APNG’s…this group is developing a way to use APNG’s in with navigational design.
